Medical training consultation

At Kieser, a medical training consultation is standard. The consultation usually lasts about 20 minutes and takes place within the first ten training sessions. As part of our health-oriented strength training, we check your state of health and physical constitution and look at your training goals together. This includes discussing your personal medical history and noting down current complaints. We then take this into account in your training plan.

Based on the examination, we can perfect your programme and clarify any questions about the training structure. This way, we can guarantee you a high quality of training.

Computer-assisted back training

Exercising certain muscle groups isn’t always easy using conventional methods. The deep back muscles in the lumbar and cervical spine are particularly difficult to reach.

For example, if we want to exercise the small back muscles in the lumbar area, the larger muscles nearby – the gluteal muscles and the muscles on the back of the thighs – come to the rescue and do the bulk of the work. As a result, the small back muscles don’t get any stronger. But with computerised back exercise machines, even these muscles can be safely and effectively built up.

During training, your strength is measured and displayed as a curve. This allows us to record your training progress. It’s usually possible to achieve a significant improvement in strength after only 12 to 18 sessions.

Back analysis

Using our computerised back machine, we ascertain the mobility of your spine and the strength of your deep back extensors in the lumbar area during the initial phase of your training. Weakness in this muscle area is often associated with back pain.

We compare your measurements with the standard data of individuals with healthy backs. The analysis provides information about the current state of your back muscles and helps us to better diagnose functional causes of your complaints. Repeated regularly, it also documents your training success.

BIA: body composition measurement

What matters for your health is not your body weight, but your body composition. Kieser now offers the latest method of body composition measurement: bioelectrical impedance analysis, or BIA for short.

The BIA measurement allows us to determine your muscle mass and body fat in just 24 seconds. The evaluation is a valuable aid in planning your training. Based on the information, we show you how to efficiently increase your muscle mass and reduce your body fat in order to boost your health.

Regular monitoring

To make sure your training is successful, we’ll regularly accompany you during your training session. We watch you performing the exercises and adjust the weights and equipment in your training plan as necessary. This way, we ensure that you train effectively at the right intensity.

The strength sensor is a useful measuring instrument for documenting your progress on the various machines. The measurement indicates your strength level and where you rank compared to others of your gender and age group.

We’ll also show you other training methods such as the super slow method. With this technique, you change your rhythm of movement in the concentric phase of the exercise, which is when you lift the weight block. Instead of four seconds, you take ten seconds to lift the weight. This increases the intensity and means there are fewer repetitions.
